An herb known as Nettle Leaf is used as a successful adjuvant remedy for inflammation & arthritis
An herb popular in many countries by the name of nettle leaf has been used with considerable success in reducing inflammation. Nettle leaf has been used successfully for quite some time in Germany as an adjuvant remedy for arthritis and urinary tract infections. Nettle leaf can be taken by itself but works best when used as part of a vitamin and herbal supplement. What makes nettle leaf extract so effective against inflammation is that it reduces inflammatory factors that are responsible for causing inflammation.
A study indicated that nettle leaf when used together with an anti-inflammatory drug (diclofenac) resulted in a 75% reduction in dosage of the drug while still attaining the same reduction in inflammation. It appears that nettle leaf works by suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-a and IL-B1. Inflammation levels are directly linked to these cytokines and reduction of these inflammatory factors reduces inflammation levels.
Needle leaf grows primarily in temperate climates and is also used as a fiber. It makes a good herbal tonic and is commonly used as a tea. There is even a nettle soup recipe for those having any interest in a good herbal soup. It can also be ordered in capsule form.
